Life Lately | NYC Date Night

Date Night. Those two precious words. I cannot express how essential going out on a date with the hubs really was. Justin and I have fully relied on being adventurous with our little sidekick tagging along. So when my future sis-in-law mentioned surprising my bro-in-law and taking him into the city for his big 30th, she wanted Justin and I to tag along with them. We haven't had a real date in months, ages for that matter! It really is a topic we both bring up and talk about quite often. This date was such a great start!

My husband is such a goof ball and makes any situation we are in, whether good or bad, extra positive. His lively spirit and fresh outlook on life is encouraging. I'll admit, I have my moments and somehow, someway, he manages to pull me out of it.

I look forward to our next date night and encourage any of you mama's, to keep it fresh with your fellah's. Even if it's a walk around the block, just holding hand's. It's a start for you and keep's you both on your toes, or rather, your heart's pumping the love out for one another. So to my Husband, my fellah, my man, my guy... I love ya!

Here we are out and about in the city, at our best... with eachother.

Subway shot!
Seeing Rocky was an awesome show to see on broadway. The show was lively and entertaining and seeing the surprise look on my brother in law's face was priceless! He was so pumped! Go see it before August 17th people!
Dinner in Chinatown. Delicious scallion pancakes, pan fried noodle and pork soup dumplings. That my friends, is a bunch of amazingness all in one shot!
Lastly, the hubs and I on a walk in Soho, bubble teas and holding hands.

What a sweet and fun shoot I had with Jill and Max...

I met Jill awhile back and we quickly hit it off! My son, Blake is only a few days apart from her son Max and they love having play date's. Jill's home is so warm and inviting and has the best natural light flowing throughout it. I was even so lucky enough to get a sneak peak into baby's future nursery, as well.

Jill is 9 months pregnant here, expecting a baby boy, Oliver. There was such natural ease and love in this mama and son and Max's curls and silly faces are to die for!

Keep on the lookout for baby Oliver's arrival and family session. Thank you, once again Jill, for allowing me to capture you and your sweet little(s). Cannot wait to meet your new addition! XO

Dwell | Office Space

Since we moved to our home in the suburbs, we knew we wanted to wait to fill it with the right things at the right time.

As I have mentioned before, we came from a typical, small, railroad style apartment in the city and it left little space to fill. Upon moving into our new home, we welcomed the larger space it had to offer. We knew we would want to fill it over time with the right things that speak to us and we truly love.
I am getting around to a favorite room in our home, which will be served as an office/rumpus room. It has a very loft presence to it and makes for a perfect spot to use as our office and as a little haven for Blake to play and use as well.
We have a lot of work to do, but I am so excited to share the progress along the way with you all. My mind is blooming with ideas and I love having my little notebook to jot down things, to keep as reference.
I love the sweet start to the decorating journey and think it is a simple and refreshing space. I still have much to add and am working on getting my desk accessories but I love how it turned out....

Keep on the look out for updates!

Life Lately | In The Hills Of Pennsylvania

It was such a fun week away in my hometown of Pennsylvania. Blake and I stayed with my parents for the week, as the hubs had a project due. We are so fortunate and blessed to have the best of both worlds and be able to either stay in the burbs and venture into the city or escape to the countryside... which is what really made sense this time around.

Through the week, we caught up with family, friends and took in the beauty of summer. We were able to walk around town and checked out some antiques for some projects I have had in mind. The local favorite, Street Of Shops, has some great thrifty finds. I left empty handed with a mind full of some ideas. (Oh, don't worry old wooden crate in the downstairs corner, I'll be back...I'll be back)

This sweet garden escape was my favorite. Might I add, It is incredible the difference in the summer last year and how quickly Blake is growing and becoming his own little being. These days, he is just too fast for this mama! I can hardly keep up...

We spent time with Blake's cousins and enjoyed watching the kids ride their bikes, jump on the trampoline and eat cool pop's in the summer sun. I loved capturing them in action and this beauty, my future Sis-in-law with her son, Cale. Seeing my sweet chubby cheeked, nephew Brody, wasn't all that bad either...

I adore this woman, my sister in law, Maranda. She is such a role model. This is her newest addition, Brody. He is so wide eyed and chubby and snuggly and so dear... Love you sweet sister!

One of the things I love most about home is the summer events, such as Music In The Park. Here are a few captured memories of fun with my littlest love, courtesy of my friend, Anissa. We hung out while the kids all ran around and danced. Blake is getting his own little groove down, pretty good. Seeing old familiar faces, that I haven't seen in ages was so refreshing and well needed. And might I add, that lavender in the background is a sweet summer favorite.

We will be back again soon, PA! All my love....

Life Lately | Scenes Of Summer So Far

My cool little baby in soho, checking out all the cabbies driving by....
walking hand in hand with papa to his office

It started out as a relaxing Saturday morning in the suburbs with the normal morning routines and last minute decided to go into the city with Justin to his office. I love escaping and since Justin had some unfinished work, Blake and I decided to drive in with him.

I filled up on my daily dose of iced coffee and took off for the day with Blake. One thing I love doing, is walking and exploring all the backstreets and I am pretty sure Blake loves it too, considering, it usually ends up with a sweet treat (we sort have a major sweet tooth over here)

What can I say, Summer in the city...amazing. All the doors to shops are open, all the window's to the restaurant's and bakeries left open with a welcoming look. I love seeing couples and old friend's sitting, enjoying a conversation and relishing in their meals. Most of all, I love seeing Blake, taking it all in and having the same experience that we are.

We took off for the West Village, and strolled around some shops. I found the new Aesop shop open on Bleeker. I love the clean look to the line and all of the products carry a fresh and earthy approach. Go do yourself a favor and snag up one of the resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm's....

We strolled along and escaped the heat after finding a rad playground. Blake was ready to get out of the stroller anyways, so I thought, done deal. I am glad I ended up bringing a change of clothes and shoes for Blake, because I knew he would want to go crazy in the sprinklers! I enjoyed jumping in with him as well...

Afterwards, we strolled around a few more shops and found myself taking Blake to my usual favorite hangout, Washington Square Park and enjoyed some frozen yogurt.

I don't know what it is, but I always find myself walking to WSP. It is such a relaxing getaway in the city full of all the cool kids and people. We usually end up spotting some actor/actress and I always so badly want to walk up and take a picture but I don't really want to be that girl.

We finished the day off, walking back into soho, taking in the cool breeze that the evening had to offer. I love walking by all the bars and restaurant's at night. The conversations, the people, the scent of all the different type's of foods...

I hope you are all having a fun weekend and staying cool. Summer, you have been good so far and NYC, thanks for the fun. See you real soon.
